my thoughts about...love

L.O.V.E

a simple word but contains a very deep meaning..
from the bible, we know that

"Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth,
always hope, always perseveres.

Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies, they will cease;
where there are tongues, they will be stilled;
where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears."
(1 Corinthians 13:4-10)

it is easy to say that we really understand what love is..
but ask ourselves, do we really fully understand it? even myself can't..
from my understanding,
love requires commitment & sacrifice..
the moment you choose to love, you need to commit & be ready for sacrifice in terms for time, financial & energy..
why? it's in order to sow into the relationship.. you need to make it grow.. just like a plant, you need to waters it.. if you pay no attention to it, the plant will withers & dies.

love is not just applies into a boy-girl relationship.
it also applies between your relationship with your family, your friends, your love one & even your enemies..

"wait...!? enemies?? how to love them??! impossible!"

ahaa... never miss this out.

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbour and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" - Matthew 5:43-44

the ultimate demonstration of love is to love your enemies.
yeah, it is hard & not easy to do so. imagine, how can you love a robber who kills your family members? ya, from our human strength & mind, we think that we can't & can never do so..

but, remember,

"For nothing is impossible with God." - Luke 1:37

we need to fully rely on God's strength, not ours.
to love & to forgive.
it is when you ask & let Him help you through..
then, you will seek refuge & peace in Him..
He will comfort you with His words from the bible because every words comes with power.
by His Spirit & strength, you will be able to do so.

come back to people around us,

God says,

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind' ; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself." - Luke 10-27

is the kind of love that you show is pure love?
it is free from hidden intentions? is it a lustful love? do you love because of some reasons?
if you really love, it shouldn't require any reasons like..

"owh, she's pretty & cute.."

"he's good looking.."

"he/she is good to me.."

or

"i feel lonely"

personally, what i think is..

never love because you feel lonely..
love because you want to love..
never play around with love by thinking it is just for fun..
it only hurts people around emotionally.
don't ever think that the more breakups you gone through,
the more "experience" you'll get..
for me, it means that you are not good in managing your relationship..
you couldn't love.

when you love, be commited. save the relationship no matter what.
both sides must learn to endure, to understand & know each other..
don't always look & point to people's weaknesses, but let the goodness take over.
remember, none is perfect.
love the person for who he/she is.
& strive to be the best for each other.
don't be rush to love!

lastly,
we can hardly learn how to love others unless we learn how to love God..
that's why, the first commandment comes in..

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind"

then only the second commandment,

"Love your neighbor as yourself"

oh ya, love yourself...too!
don't take care of others if you don't know how to take care of yourself.. :p

God is love.
when you love God & He is in you, you will know how to love because He is love..
hmm..how good it is to have a God who loves!

it's better to love, than to hate..
love brings you joy, brings you peace, brings you smile..
while hate only makes your day miserable.
why not love more?

well. some of you might wonder why i suddenly write all this..
i also don't know.

just a sudden inspiration that made me wanna do so..
all my personal thoughts *no offense to anyone* & understanding about love from the bible.
it doesn't mean that i am good enough & i-know-the-way-to-love.
i'm just like one of you..i may fail.
i'm just learning.
let's learn together. =)
the greatest things you can do is to love..
