nuwav 5th anniversary dance!

nuwav 5th anniversary...
*23 may 2009*
it was a blast!
argh~
i couldn't forget that night..

same like previous years,
the theme is "beyond limit"

for all the dancers *including me*,
we really have gone beyond our limit..
why??

1) all of us are from 3 different congregations, & we had tough time meeting up for practices..
2) some of them are studying in private schools*which got long school hours, even saturdays*
3) some of them had exams in the week before performance date
4) i'm working
5) we don't have enough time for practices! we only can meet about once a week!

but despite all these hinderences,
we did it!
to all of us, this type of dance is very new..
especially to me, this is the second time i dance a "fast dance"..
i'm a slow learner, having tough time in learning & remembering the dance steps, but thank God
that i'm able to overcome it..
*we really really sweat a lot in this dance! what a good exercise..lolz*

really nervous before the dance started..

come back to the dance,
the first part is actually a short musical drama/skit..

there's a story,

a guy is sitting there, looking disappointed..
then a group of dancers passed by & one of them tripped over his leg*that's me* & fell down..
then, all of them wonder why he is sitting there all alone & encourage him to join them in dance..
he joined & learnt to dance but he refused because of lack of confidence..
then all the dancers gave him words of encouragement..

he finally gave it a thought, agreed & shouted "amen!"*wordings from his shirt*

then the dance part joined in..
we actually learn the dance from a group of korean dancers..
even the shirt's design*the cross in front, but i added words at the back of the shirt*
credit to them.
they really dance very well & nice..*pro!*

we learnt their dance steps but got a little bit different because too hard to learn..lolz.

phew~
we really rushed a lot in learning all the dance steps..
not easy..

the short drama, we only go through it on one day before the 5th anniversary night..
*that's the 4 hours practice we had last friday* =.=

hehe. i think i never mentioned before..
i always caught flu recently because everytime after dance practice, i sweat a lot..
then i kena air cond~
*during action night or in the bus*
so...haha..

overall, God really rocks that night!
the dance is just part of it..
the greatest thing is how God has touched people lives
through all the programs..
the powerful message by ps joeanne & ps mike's challenge to all youths to go beyond limit..

i learnt a lot that night..
not only going beyond limit through dance,
but also in becoming the emcee for the first time in such a big event*200 youths!* partnering with pauline..
really nervous in the beginning..*until we forgot to introduce ourselves!* =.="
but thank God it went well..^^

really thanks yong yi a lot a lot for spending time to figure out the dance steps from the youtube & teach all of us..

& the best thing of all is that 6 of us had a stronger bond of relationship..
really enjoy dancing with them!
